The Design Portal was developed by Design Network North, to give Northern businesses the platform they deserve.
It’s an interactive directory to help you find businesses involved in design, manufacturing or innovation consultancy.
You can filter companies based on the design services, manufacturing services or business services they offer, and by their sector experience.
So if you’re looking for a product design company that has worked in the oil and gas sector, just click the relevant buttons and you’ll see who fits.
And if no companies fit your criteria, do get in touch as there are other ways we can help you find them.
If there are a number of organisations you like the look of, add them to your shortlist, and you can send them all a project brief.
Or, if you need different types of companies for different elements of your project, then use our supply chain tool to add businesses for each stage. The tool allows you to specify what areas you need, e.g. concept design, prototyping, IP, packaging etc.
You can then drop the companies you like into each stage of the process (by ticking the box on their profile) – then send a brief to all of them.
We’ll also be notified here at Design Network North, so we can keep an eye on things and and make sure each organisation gets back to you quickly.

A core team of three individuals, each specialising in different areas, support the network, organising events and providing assistance, opportunities and advice to members and non members alike.
The network is designed to offer support, advice, networking, business opportunities and events to its members, partners and the wider community. Our aim is to increase the awareness of the importance of design within all industries, insuring that the value of design is considered by everyone, in the region and beyond.
