Work Examples

CompassLED Micro Spotlight system

CompassLED is a magnetically connected micro spotlight system for museum and retail display. It is the world’s first lighting range to marry seamlessly with Cohda’s proprietary Power-Tap technology, an innovative method of delivering power through glass invisibly

Power Tap: Invisible power delivery through glass

Cohda Design has developed an innovative method of delivering power through glass invisibly. By utilising transparent conductive coatings, Power-Tap (P-Tap) transfers power to any device without the need for wires. P-Tap Intellectual property is protected under GB1709766.8, EP18756270.7, CA WO2018234777 & US16/624,293

Globe Deck Chair

Globe + Cohda’s recent collaboration has culminated in the Deck Chair- a chair design that uses manufacture processes and components, generally only seen in the board sports industry, to offer something truly unique to the furniture market. Founded in 1994, Globe often pushes the boundaries of the norm.

Komoru: Reducing Smartphone Addiction

Komoru is a material solution to a technological problem: smartphone addiction and signal interception. Cohda has adapted the principles of Michael Faraday’s Cage by replacing the rigid structure with a sea of conductive microspheres capable of stopping electromagnetic signals reaching anything placed within them, including smartphones (4G & 5G)

R.I.D (Recycling Identifying Device) concept. This, simple to use, handheld device uses NIR spectroscopy: light that sits outside of the normal visible spectrum to clearly identify appropriate recyclable and non-recyclable materials. When a material encounters NIR radiation, different bonds within the material absorb varying wavelengths along the s

Kepler For Innermost

The Kepler lighting range of luminaires for Innermost Lighting. The hanging disks use light refraction combined with a holographic fabric to create an illusion of depth or infinity. Since launch the Kepler range has caused quite the stir being shortlisted in the Dezeen Awards, Darc Awards, and AZ awards 2018.
